In mid-March 2018, Meridian Specialty Yarn Group, Inc. and Labor Connections began our partnership. Within the timespan of two weeks, our mutually-agreeable contract was signed and our on-site representative, Christine Jones, was set up, interviewing candidates, and giving tours of our Ranlo, NC facility. Stacey Walker, Owner/Operating Manager of Labor Connections, understood our immediate need for qualified employees and was extremely focused on committing the time and resources required to quickly begin our partnership.
Since the end of March, Labor Connections has been very successful in what two other agencies, who have offices with full staffing in the area, were not able to do. Our management team is not only pleased with the volume of candidates that Labor Connections has brought in but the quality of candidates, as well. To date, Labor Connections has placed over 50 candidates in our facility and currently has 30 employees working on all three shifts. In only 60 days, Labor Connections reduced our critical staffing shortage to manageable levels.
Our practice is to hire temporary employees with the goal of transitioning them to our payroll as permanent employees as soon as the contract obligations are met.
